Privacy Policy
What edos.io collects, and what it never does
edos.io is an information and contact site. This policy describes the data it actually handles today. Where something is not in use, the policy says so rather than describing it as if it were live.
1. Who we are
edos.io is operated by Enterprise DevOps Solutions LLC, a United States company based in Boise, Idaho. Contact us about privacy at edos-labs@edos.io, or generally at info@edos.io. EDOS also operates the products described in section 10, each of which has its own privacy policy.
2. What we never collect
- Accounts or passwords. edos.io has no sign-in. Nothing on the site requires registration.
- Payment details. The site sells nothing and takes no payments.
- Cookies set by us. edos.io sets no cookies. The contact form keeps a referral slug in your browser's session storage for the current tab only (section 3); it is not a cookie and is not sent anywhere until you submit the form.
- Analytics or trackers. edos.io loads no Google Analytics, advertising pixels, session recording or fingerprinting scripts.
- IP addresses in our records. We do not store your IP address. Access logging on our content delivery network is switched off. The abuse-protection hash in section 3 cannot be turned back into an address.
- Anything typed into the contact form other than what you submit. We receive the form only when you press Send.
We do not sell personal information, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it to train AI models.
3. What we collect when you contact us
The contact form on edos.io posts to go.edos.io, our enquiry service, which EDOS operates on Amazon Web Services in the United States (us-west-2). It receives exactly what the form sends:
| Data | Why | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Email address (required); name and company if you give them | To reply to you about EDOS services. | What you type |
| The topic you picked ("I'm interested in") and your message (up to 4,000 characters) | To understand what you are asking and route it to the right person. | What you type |
| Your consent tick and the version of the consent text you agreed to, with the time | To record that you asked us to reply, and under which wording. | The form |
A referral slug (ref), when you arrived through a go.edos.io short link (section 4) | To learn which post, talk or page brought you to us. | The link you followed, kept in your browser's session storage for this tab |
| A Cloudflare Turnstile token | To check that the submission came from a person, not a script. go.edos.io sends the token to Cloudflare for verification and does not keep it. | The Turnstile widget in your browser |
| Abuse protection: a keyed one-way hash of the sending network address combined with the current hour | To limit repeated submissions. It cannot be turned back into the address, cannot link one hour to the next, and is removed automatically after two hours. | Your connection to go.edos.io |
| An internal lead identifier, a priority grade derived from the fields above, and the status of the enquiry | To track our reply and close the enquiry. | go.edos.io |
The form also contains a hidden "website" field that people cannot see. If a script fills it, the submission is discarded and nothing is stored.
4. Short links on go.edos.io
We publish short links of the form go.edos.io/slug in posts, streams and talks. Following
one redirects you to the destination page with standard UTM parameters and a ref
parameter added to the destination URL, so we can tell which link brought you. For each link we
record a daily click count, split into people and automated link previews. We do not store who
clicked, your IP address, browser details or any cookie. The ref value reaches our
enquiry record only if you later submit the contact form.
5. Email we send
When you submit the form, go.edos.io may send two messages through SendGrid (Twilio Inc.):
- An acknowledgement to you, with fixed text and a booking link. It contains nothing you typed, so the form cannot be used to relay content to others.
- A notification to the EDOS team with the details you submitted, so a person can reply. Its reply-to address is yours.
Open and click tracking are switched off for every message, so no tracking pixel or rewritten link reaches you. Our replies to you are ordinary business email from an edos.io address.
6. How we use data
- To respond to your enquiry. This is the purpose you consent to on the form and the reason we keep the record while the enquiry is open.
- To send product updates, only if you chose "Keep me posted" or otherwise asked for them. You can withdraw at any time by replying to any message or emailing us.
- To understand which of our posts and talks bring people to us, using the aggregate click counts and referral slugs described above.
- To protect the site and go.edos.io from abuse, and to comply with law.
7. Who else processes data (subprocessors)
We share data only with the providers below, each for the purpose stated, and when the law requires it. We have no other subprocessors. If we add one, we update this table before it processes your data.
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services, Inc. | Hosts edos.io (S3 and CloudFront) and runs go.edos.io: compute, database, secrets and operational logs. | United States (us-west-2) |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Turnstile bot check on the contact form. The widget runs in your browser under Cloudflare's privacy policy; we send Cloudflare only the widget's token to verify it. No Cloudflare account is involved. | United States |
| Twilio Inc. (SendGrid) | Delivers the acknowledgement and notification emails in section 5. Receives the recipient address and the message, with tracking off. | United States |
| Google LLC (Google Fonts) | Serves the typefaces on this site. Your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which see your IP address under Google's privacy policy. We receive nothing from this. | United States |
| Google LLC (appointment schedule) | If you choose to book a call from the acknowledgement email or go.edos.io/book, you are taken to a Google Calendar appointment page under Google's privacy policy. We receive the booking you make. | United States |
8. Where data is stored and how it is protected
edos.io is static content served from Amazon Web Services. Enquiry records are stored by go.edos.io in a database on Amazon Web Services in the United States (us-west-2), encrypted at rest with AWS-managed keys and in transit with TLS. The form accepts submissions only from EDOS website origins, and the database is reachable only by the service and by EDOS staff. We have not obtained a SOC 2 report.
9. Retention and deletion
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiry record (email, name, company, topic, message, referral, consent) | While we handle your enquiry and, if you asked for updates, until you withdraw. Records expire automatically three years after our last contact. Ask us to delete yours sooner at any time. |
| Abuse-protection hash | Two hours, then removed automatically by the database. |
| Turnstile token | Not stored; used once for verification. |
| Short-link click counts | Kept as daily totals per link. They contain no personal data. |
| Email delivery records at SendGrid | Under SendGrid's own retention policy for message activity. |
| Our reply correspondence | As ordinary business email, while the relationship lasts. |
To have your enquiry deleted, or to withdraw consent to updates, email edos-labs@edos.io or info@edos.io from the address you submitted. We delete the record from go.edos.io and confirm by reply.
10. Other EDOS services
- Ork Meter and Ork Meter for Discord (orkmeter.com) have their own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which govern those services. Section 11 below describes what the EDOS sign-in app receives from Google when you sign in to Ork Meter.
- Orkestera (orkestera.com) is in development with design partners. Data handling for a design-partner engagement is set out in that partner's written agreement.
11. Sign in with Google (Ork Meter)
Enterprise DevOps Solutions LLC operates Ork Meter at orkmeter.com. This section explains how the EDOS-branded sign-in app uses Google user data when a person chooses Sign in with Google.
- What the app requests. Only the OpenID
openidscope. It requests no other Google scopes. - What it stores. Ork Meter verifies the ID token that Google returns and stores only the stable Google account identifier (the
subclaim), in the hashed form described in the Ork Meter Privacy Policy, so it can recognise the same account on later sign-ins. - What it never does. It does not request, read or store your Google email address, name, profile picture, contacts, Gmail, Drive, Calendar or any other Google data, and it does not share Google data with third parties. It does not use Google data for advertising or to train AI models.
- Deletion. The identifier is deleted when you delete your Ork Meter account at orkmeter.com/account, or on request to edos-labs@edos.io.
- Policy compliance. Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The full Ork Meter privacy policy is at orkmeter.com/privacy.
12. Your choices
- Do not use the form. You can write to us directly at info@edos.io instead; your email is then handled as ordinary business correspondence.
- Ask us at edos-labs@edos.io for a copy of the data we hold about you, for correction or deletion, to withdraw consent, or with any question about this policy. We respond to every request and do not treat you differently for making one.
- Block third-party requests. Browser settings or extensions can block requests to Google Fonts; the site still works with system fonts.
13. Children
edos.io is a business site and is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 to submit the contact form. We do not knowingly collect data from children; tell us if you believe we have.
14. Changes and contact
We will post changes here with a new date; material changes are announced on this page. Questions: Enterprise DevOps Solutions LLC · Boise, Idaho, United States · edos-labs@edos.io · info@edos.io.
